Nature Centers

Wisconsin fish, reptiles, and amphibians can be viewed inside the nature center. It also features hand-on exhibits, live native reptiles, amphibians and fish, and a book nook with children's books. Offers environmental education opportunities for the community.

This nature center is open for public visitation by appt., and has become a popular site for exploring the marsh. Educational and community programs are offered throughout the year.

There's something for everyone at Maywood! Maywood offers six diverse ecosystems, an Arboretum, and a butterfly & hummingbird garden on its 135-acres. Community events, school and group tours, classes, workshops and more await you at Maywood. 365-days a year, free of charge. Hike, ski, walk, bird, and more!

This 105-acre preserve features indoor exhibits on Lake Sturgeon, Wisconsin Bats, Birds, Niagara Escarpment, as well as a honeybee observation hive, hiking trails, 60-foot observation tower, arboretum, butterfly garden, rain garden, caves and quarry. Several seasonal events throughout the year.

Located along the central shore area of the Kohler Andrae State Park, your family can explore the nature center to learn about animals, the park's history, the surrounding Great Lakes fishery, wildflowers and more. The center has an auditorium and frequent programs with guest speakers and a variety of fun-filled educational programs for children. Also accessible from inside the nature center is a stairway to an observation deck on top of the building.

Woodland Dunes is a 1300-acre nature preserve of globally significant habitat. Hike the trails, learn from the interpretive displays, let the kids enjoy the freedom of the Little Wings nature play area and interactive room, join a class or set your own pace to learn about the natural world around you.
